I know that after users log in and authorize using Twitter, they can generate an ETH address for them and perform on chain operations. This address is bound to their Twitter account one by one. Can I calculate or get from web3auth the ETH address of a user using their Twitter ID before they log in to Twitter?
Hey Donut Donut!
Thanks for reaching out. I understand you’re looking to pre-know the user’s ETH address using their Twitter handle before they log in via Twitter. Unfortunately, Web3Auth does not support retrieving or calculating an ETH address for a user before they authenticate through Twitter. The ETH address is generated and linked during the authentication process when the user logs in.
For security and privacy purposes, the generation and binding of ETH addresses to social accounts like Twitter occur only during the user authentication flow:
- User logs in via Twitter.
- User consents to the binding of the ETH address.
- The ETH address is then generated and associated with their account.
