I found the relevant implements a Torus node in Docker - Docker updated 3 months ago, but the open repository has been open for a very long time - more than a few years, has not been updated.
Can I clarify Torus Node - has it become a project with a closed (private) source code?
Or where can I see the current source code of Node?
Currently hosting a Torus node for the Web3Auth network is publically not possible. We are currently a permissioned system. The Torus Nodes implementation documentation is not available.
The Torus node repository is currently referring to our older infrastructure which was based on Shamir’s Secret Sharing. Our newer nodes are currently under development and will be open sourced once we launch our new infrastructure after the audits.
Do I understand correctly that at the current moment we can say that the entire Torus network is managed by a private company Web3Auth and you do not allow enthusiasts to participate in the network - correct?
Does the current network infrastructure and the current verification scheme work behind the old open sourced version? or already on a new source code which is closed (private) and not public tested?
Current network is working on the open sourced version only. Our network will be migrating soon to the new node infrastructure and we’ll open source the code as soon as we do that.
Hi, is the Polkadot migration still relevant? Pretty sure I read somewhere that you’ll be switching from a Tendermint-based mainnet to a new one built on Substrate, but correct me if I’m wrong.
I’d also love to hear more about the rationale behind the switch. The medium post featuring the Auth Network launch pretty much only explained that the Substrate kit would work better with what you guys have in mind for the mainnet.
Hoping this is covered in the announcement as well
