Hi I’m abit confused on the MAU pricing and in the FAQ and would like some clarification here.
As I understand MAU = unique users
If an unique users logs in <5 per session length (1-7 days), this person is not counted towards 1 MAU.
If an unique users logs in > 5 per session ( 1 - 7 days ), this person is considered 1 MAU, but if he continues to log in throughout the course of the month, over 100+, it’s still considered 1 MAU.
MAU is a monthly active user making calls to the Web3Auth Network at most 5 times in a given month.
This means every 5 login by the unique user is counted as 1.
1-5 logins = 1 MAU
6-10 logins = 2 MAUs
11-15 logins = 3 MAUs
and so on.
Talking about the session management, we don’t consider that aspect in our login or MAU counting. If a user’s session is maintained (at max for 7 days through our API), they’ll still be counted as 1 login. If the users logs out, or the session is stopped due to any reason, following which the user needs to login again, we count that as the consecutive login. So even if the user accesses your app 100+ times while the session is still there, they’ll be counted as 1 login, hence 1 MAU.
This is incredibly confusing and isn’t true to the definition of MAU, no?
So an Unique User can pretty much represent 4.3 MAU per month if this user logs in at least 5 times every 7 days. Using the example of having 30 days in a month
