I have a connection problem that I don’t understand. I’m trying to use my Google account as a wallet. If I want to use my gmail address I click on the “continue with google” button a new page opens and I select my gmail account. Then it asks me to connect to Web3Auth and I press the ‘continue’ button except that it detects my PC as a new device and offers me Device, recovery phrase and recovery password. If I choose device it tells me to connect to a previous device. But I can connect to the web3auth dashboard without problems but I don’t have anything to validate the new PC. If I click on recovery phrase it tells me that there is an error even though I have. the email again containing this sentence and it is correct I had not configured a recovery password but a Google Authenticator account which is useless… How can I validate this step?
Hi Luc!
It sounds like you’re encountering an issue with the recovery factor verification while trying to use your Google account as a wallet with Web3Auth’s Plug n Play SDK. I understand the frustration of being prompted for recovery options and not having the ability to validate your new device.
Here’s what you can do:
-
Check Recovery Setup: Make sure that your recovery factors are correctly set up. You should have at least one recovery factor that can authenticate the new device, such as a recovery phrase or backup email.
-
Device Recognition: If you can access the Web3Auth dashboard, ensure that your device is recognized there, and if necessary, add it as a trusted device.
-
Authenticator: If you were using Google Authenticator as another factor, make sure it is properly synced and functional.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, could you please provide:
- Any console errors or messages you might be seeing.
- Specific snippets of the code where Web3Auth is initialized and handled for login.
This info will help our support team better understand your specific setup for a more tailored solution. Feel free to share screenshots if that’s easier!
Thank you, and we’ll try to get this sorted for you as soon as possible!

How I do it please?
Hey @danton.luc69,
Which dApp are you trying to login to?
Also, have you tried using https://account.web3auth.io? Here, you will be able to log in with your primary factor, create a new factor, and use that to log in.
