Support for Decentralized Identifiers

Given that Web3auth is designed to manage the custody of private keys for Ethereum accounts, is it too far fetched to think it can do the same for Decentralized Identifiers based on this W3C standard? Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) v1.0

Our application will be leveraging DIDs anchored on Arbitrum (ETH DID Method) combined with classic EOA keys.

Is this possible?

Hi there! Thank you for reaching out with your question about Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Web3Auth.

While Web3Auth focuses primarily on managing the custody of private keys for Ethereum accounts, the integration of DIDs is an interesting exploration. Currently, Web3Auth does not directly support DIDs as outlined in the W3C standard, but leveraging DIDs anchored on Arbitrum combined with classic EOA keys could be a potential approach for your application.

If you have any other specific features or use-cases in mind regarding DIDs, please feel free to share! Your insights are valuable, and I’ll be happy to guide you further.
