What parts of Web3Auth is monetized?

Obviously “Free for first 1,000 MAWs on your app” - but im curious what specific technologies does this apply to. I see several SDK tools on GitHub. If i use any of those, will i eventually run the risk of needing to pay money? Just curious because im looking for something totally open source and not monetized since that’s more aligned with my ethics

@skate.jackj Thanks for your question.

Although all the frontend SDKs for Web3Auth are open source, the network on which the key management happens is not available publicly. You can also view the node configurations in our repositories, however to run the architecture, there are significant costs involved, which we have been managing all along. If you wish to individually host these, you can deep dive into our GitHub and do so, however there still require a lot of hand holding and proper security management.

You can take a look at our pricing page Web3Auth | Pricing - Personalised plans for everyone!

The base plan is a very basic plan which gives you the ability to explore features only in Test environment. If you need to go live with your dApp, you will need to upgrade to a higher plan for which a monthly price will apply.

There are also our enterprise plans exist where we help clients host these services in the most optimum way, while charging some premium on our private modules which aid the management and security of services.
