Hi Winny!

Thanks for reaching out to the Web3Auth community. I see that you’re encountering an issue while logging in with a Google account using the Plug and Play SDK. Let’s try to get this sorted out for you.

I noticed you’ve attached an image, but for us to assist you better, could you also provide some additional details if available:

  1. The specific error message or code that’s displayed in the screenshot.
  2. The version number of the SDK you are using.
  3. The platform you are working on (e.g., Web, iOS, Android).

Additionally, if you have any code snippets related to your Web3Auth initialization and login implementation, sharing those would be immensely helpful.

In the meantime, you might want to check out the Google login integration documentation on the Web3Auth Developer Documentation page as it might help you pinpoint any discrepancies in your setup.

Feel free to provide any further details, and we’ll do our best to help you resolve this issue!

This is not a problem with the Plug and Play SDK, it is a problem when I log in to https://base.app.tea.xyz/sign-up using a Google account. To solve this problem, I signed up for a web3auth.io account. I didn’t even have a web3auth.io account before. But about a year ago, I also logged in to https://app.tea.xyz/ using a Google account.

Hey @winny3630,

Thanks for the details. Here’s how it works:

  • Recovery Phrase is not something you set manually. It gets sent to an alternate email (not your Google login email) during MFA onboarding — you must have entered this email at that time.
→ Please check your other inboxes (not your Google login email), as the phrase will not be visible in the same email you log in with.

  • Recovery Password, however, is something you manually set during MFA onboarding. If you’re seeing the prompt to enter one, it means you had set it up.
→ Try entering any passwords you might’ve used — there’s no reset possible from our side for security reasons.

If you can’t access any of these MFA methods (device, phrase, or password), Web3Auth can’t recover the account. We never store your private credentials or backup values — that’s part of our security model.
