I have a web3auth account. I want to transfer the ownership to another email address. But couldn’t found any option. I found a option add member. If I need to add as a member of the transferred ownership account before transfer the ownership then what will be role of the transferred ownership account?
You may assign the Owner role for the new account holder after inviting them.
Roles and Permissions | Documentation | Web3Auth
A few things to keep in mind:
- The owner can manage project settings, manage organization, manage billing, and delete the organization.
- There can only be one owner at a time.
- The new owner will be charged for billing.
- Ensure all verifiers are linked to a project before transferring ownership
In which role I will invite the new account holder where I want to transfer the ownership?
The role will be owner for the new account holder where you want to transfer ownership.
However, I couldn’t find the transfer ownership button on the web3auth dashboard. Can you please explain the transfer ownership procedure? My understanding is that first will add a new member by pressing the settings tab add member button as admin then I can transfer the ownership to this admin account, is that okay? I also couldn’t find any owner role on the add member dropdown. I found only 3 roles on the add member dropdown list(Admin, Member, and Billing). Please give me a total description. I am a developer and this account is created using my email account. Now I want to transfer this account to the client account. Your documentation of these steps is not clear. Please help me by providing me with the full cycle steps.
Yes, you are correct, the reason is you can have only one owner at a time. So create the invite with Admin role, then go back to Settings> Member tab and edit the role from Admin to Owner.
Okay, thank you so much. I have 4 seat members. How many members I can provide an admin role?
You can have only one owner and assign the admin role for the rest if you wish.
