Can Web3Auth support social authentication to backup private keys? We’d like to make it an option to backup a user’s existing private key by having them sign in with social authentication. Any guidance is appreciated. Thank you!

hi @daniel4 ,

Yes, you can. please check our demo and try MFA. https://demo.web3auth.io/
You can select one different social login to the one you are login.

Please check our doc on how to configure it:

Thanks for the response. I meant if a user already has a private key, can they import this into Web3Auth using social authentication instead of Web3Auth generating them a new private key? This doesn’t seem to be supported looking at the demo or docs.

hi @daniel4,

If you have your own private key, you can connect it through Metamask. But you can’t associate a private key (that you already have) with a social login.
